DESCRIPTION: The Dean of Childress Center is responsible for overall operation and development of the Childress Center. The Dean reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
1. Recommends the formulation of policy on matters relating to the development and expansion of the Childress Center.
2. Helps document the need for all Academic Programs and Career, Technical and Continuing Education Programs.
3. Works with the Vice President of Academic Affairs in the planning and scheduling of all workforce education, continuing education, and community service courses and programs at Childress Center locations.
4. Provides administrative supervision for the development, implementation and evaluation of continuing education programs of the College.
5. Works with institutional committees, personnel committees, and lay advisory committees.
6. Submit incident/damage reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs and/or President.
7. Maintains continuous evaluation of the economic feasibility of programs at Childress Center to insure that only those programs with appropriate priority in terms of need and demand are continued.
8. Write grant proposals, as appropriate, for the purposes of funding special, new, and innovative instructional programs.
9. Works with the Vice President of Academic Affairs in compiling and submitting all regional, state, or federal reports related to instructional programs at the Childress Center.
10. Manages the Perkins Basic Grant application and fund allocation annually
11. Participates as a member of the President’s Cabinet and in the formulation of college-wide policies.
12. Support College activities and special events through attendance and/or participation.
13. Comply with College policies, rules, and regulations.
14. Remain current through a program of professional development.
15. Performs all other duties assigned by the Vice President of Academic Affairs and/or the President.
